About Texas Garden Finder

Texas Garden Finder exists to answer one question well: “Where should I actually buy plants near me?” National search results mix big-box garden departments with independent nurseries, and none of them tell you whether a plant that looks great on the shelf will survive your winter. We built this directory to fix that.

What we do differently

• Every listing is zone-aware. We map each of our 1,117 Texas listings to its USDA 2023 hardiness zone, so you can see local frost dates and growing conditions right on the listing page.
• Independents are labeled. We distinguish independent nurseries from national and regional chains, because where you shop shapes what's available and the advice you get.
• Local guidance, not generic tips. Our planting calendars and city guides are written for Texas's four growing regions, where the gardening year looks nothing like the national norm.

Where the data comes from

Business details such as names, addresses, hours, ratings, and services are compiled from publicly available business listings and are refreshed periodically. Ratings and review counts reflect Google review data at our last update. Hardiness zone data comes from the USDA 2023 Plant Hardiness Zone Map. Planting windows are compiled from USDA zone averages and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension guidance.

Businesses change hours, move, and close. If you spot something out of date, or you own a garden center and want your listing corrected, contact us and we'll fix it.

Coverage

We currently cover 201 Texas cities, from the biggest metro areas to small towns with a single beloved nursery. Coverage grows over time, and additional states are on the roadmap.
